Beckman v. Bennett

Photographer Janette Beckman captured some of the most iconic images of hip-hop’s early stars. When self-styled appropriation artist Knowledge Bennett used Janette’s famous image of artist Slick Rick in a series of works offered in galleries around the world, she came to us for guidance. We were able to successfully resolve the claim and protect this significant piece of Janette’s archive and legacy.
